TARIFF UPDATE

TO OUR VALUED CLIENTS | usa / canada TARIFFS

FEB 25, 2025 update | HOW THE USA / canada TARIFF OF 25% WILL AFFECT OUR PRICING

Recent announcements of a tariff on products manufactured in the USA are set to take effect March 1, 2025.

We have some GREAT news for our clients!!

100% of our colour products are manufactured in European countries (Finland, Sweden, France, The Netherlands, Spain) and will not be subject to any tariffs.

100% of our Balmain Couture Products are manufactured in European countries (Finland, Sweden, France, The Netherlands, Spain) and will not be subject to any tariffs.

Our Kevin Murphy Products are manufactured primarily in Australia, Europe and Canada. Although at this time they are distributed through the USA, we are working with our supply chain partners to mitigate any potential tariffs by either changing the supply routes or getting an exemption on tariffs.

What can you expect?

You can be assured that the majority of the products and services that you have grown to love will be tariff free.  We do not anticipate tariffs to affect our pricing.

    • Things seem to be rapidly shifting these days, so if there are any impacts we will keep you fully informed.
    • If we do have tariffs applicable to any of our products we will be clearly marking them on our display in store to make it easy to identify
    • If a tariff is payable on the product we will charge the tariff separately on your invoice for full transparency.
    • We will never mark up any tariff fees, you pay what we pay.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BUYING LOCAL.

We appreciate any and all support you have provided by choosing to purchase your products from our salon.  As a consumer, we understand that you have many options available and can buy your products anywhere.

How we shop matters.

Many of our clients have told us that they intend to avoid purchasing anything made in the USA due to the unfair nature of the tariffs and disregard for signed free trade agreements.

Here are a few facts we would ask our clients to consider when making your purchases:

    • Buying from a Locally owned business contributes 55 – 67% back to our local economy
    • Buying from a chain or franchise retailer either online or in-store contributes only 13%-15% to our local economy.
    • Buying from large online platforms (Amazon) contributes only 1- 5% to our local economy.

Join us in maximizing your purchasing power to support locally owned companies.

Here is a graphic that illustrates this impact.
